Peer Support…peer support is using our lived experience as survivors for survivors. We come together to provide active listening, knowledge, experience, & emotional support, as well as resources. Peer support is non-clinical and operates outside of the system. We are not an expert on YOU or feel the need to “fix” you. You are the expert of you. We are not mandated reporters, which means we will not call the police or emergency services on you, even if suicidal. We prefer the Alternatives to Suicide approach. Calling the police puts BIPOC folks, especially Black folks, at risk.

Mutual Aid: Mutual aid is the idea that “we must cooperate to survive!” (P. Kropotkin) It is solidarity with our neighbors rather than charity. Our survival, as survivors of sexual and relationship violence, depends on cooperation of all resources we have available. We routinely help support members in our community that need help. We treat no one as disposable. We not only provide support locally, but are starting a new mutual aid project that will bring Survivor Arts Collective to under-resourced areas across the country to provide support with Gordita - the bad ass mutual aid bus. We will bring supplies like Narcan and Plan B as well as other material support that is needed. We will facilitate “train the trainers” in how to run their own Bystander Intervention trainings as well as peer led support groups.
